Brief Achievements
Published online database “Terebrantian thrips of India’;

Diagnosed a terebrantian thrips genus belonging to subfamily Thripinae new to Science.
Described nine thrips species new to science.
Lectotype was designated for Gynaikothrips microchaetus.
Redescribed Aduncothrips asiaticus and Gynaikothrips microchaetus.
Ten species and two genera of thrips were recorded for the first time from India.
Recognition
Served as a member of national committee formed by Directorate of Plant Protection
Quarantine and Storage (DPPQ&S) for the development of Standard Operational Practices
(SOP) for integrated management of Thrips parvispinus.
Served as a member of national committee formed by Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer’s
Welfare to conduct the survey and assessment of thrips infestation in chilli crops at Andhra
Pradesh and Telangana.
Received SBA-Dr Abraham Verghese Award for Best Ph. D. thesis in Entomology (Bioecology, Biosystematics, Biocontrol and Biotechnology).
Awarded University of Agricultural Sciences (Dharwad) Gold Medal for securing the highest OGPA in Ph.D. (Agricultural Entomology).
