Applying nanotechnology to semio-chemicals and using expertise in the synthesis and then the evaluation of the toxicity of novel chemicals in pest control.
Synthesizing insect pheromones and kairomones analogs and developing nanosensors for pest management.
Synthesizing of analogue moieties of different compounds and in the synthesis of heterocyclic systems to study Arene-Arene interactions.
Purifying these substances using various chromatographic techniques, crystallization, and so forth, and further characterizing the compounds based on chemical transformations; and with spectral techniques, such as NMR, IR, UV, Mass Spectroscopy and elemental analyses.
Studying the control of aflatoxin and ochratoxin quantitative analysis and detoxification using medicinal plants from the A & N Islands. Maintaining tissue cultures of rice at the Division of Biotechnology at A & N Islands.
Extracting aromatic oils from lemongrass and palmarosa, as well as profiling volatile compounds, quantitatively and qualitatively, at the National Research Centre for Medicinal & Aromatic Plants in Anand, Gujarat.
Advising farmers on converting either geranyl acetate to geraniol or geraniol to geranyl acetate in the production of bulk aromatic oils. And providing a qualitative and quantitative analysis for certificates of the percentage of volatile compounds, such as linalool, linalyl acetate, geraniol, and others which hold commercial export value.
